User-programmable rotary sensors create maximum flexibility

With its absolute-measuring Vert-X rotary encoders in the Vert-X MH-C2 family, Contelec is creating new flexibility in angle measurement. Based on Vert-X MH-C2 technology, the solutions permit free, customer-specific programming of various parameters. One example is the integration of application-specific characteristic curves and practically unlimited switching functions. Particularly worthy of mention is the programming capability on the production line. This enables the user to adjust parameters such as characteristic curve, angle range, index points (e.g. zero point) and direction of rotation to the particular requirements of the application.

The programmability slims down stockholding needs and simplifies the purchase of suitable angle sensors. This newly achieved flexibility also benefits development and prototyping departments, enabling them to integrate a wide range of different functions with a minimum of components and to test the use of programmable rotary encoders in a diverse range of applications.

A further highlight of the innovative Vert-X MH-C2 technology is the possibility of configuring angle sensors in the field (settable angle sensors). Configuration options include setting the zero point, the start and end points and the direction of rotation (CW/CCW) once the sensors have been installed. This not only simplifies the installation process, but also leads to increased accuracy – even with wide installation tolerances.
