Angle measurement where installation space is tight

Restricted space, a difficult environment and high price sensitivity: when these factors combine, they make angle measurement a challenging undertaking.

Contelec’s Vert-X 05E redefines value for money. Thanks to its minimal dimensions and its physical architecture, this rotary encoder is suitable for the tightest of spaces and for harsh environments.

Vert-X 05E is potted with high-quality, temperature-resistant epoxy resin and resistant to dirt. The specified protection rating is IP68 and the permitted temperature range covers -40°C to +125°C.

Non-contacting measuring method

Vert-X 05E is based on a non-contacting magnetic measuring method: sensor unit and magnetic actuator are separate from one another. This leads to a high resistance to shock and vibration and enables precise measurements, even with significant axial and radial misalignment of the magnetic actuator.

Vert-X 05E – flat and bearing-free

The Vert-X 05E rotary encoder measures just 5 mm in height. As a result of the shallow design and a measuring system positioned just 6 mm from the edge, the sensor can be used in applications where the center of rotation is close to a wall. The result is that angle measurements can be made in previously unfeasible locations.

Flipped installation

It’s never been easier to choose the direction of rotation you want: the Vert-X 05E can be mounted rotated around 180° – to select CW or CCW. There’s no need to program the rotary encoder.

Transmissive measurement

The non-contacting measuring principle enables transmissive measurements, where the angle is measured through non-magnetic substances (liquid or solid materials).

Redundancy

The Vert-X 05E rotary encoder is available in a fully redundant version, also making this sensor suitable for safety-relevant applications.
