Magnetic sensor principle
With contactless rotary encoders, there is no direct contact between the magnets and the measuring system itself.
Unlike potentiometers where a physical wearing contact is created, this wear-free measuring method guarantees maximum durability of the rotary encoder.
Alongside the long lifespan, other key features of Contelec’s contactless sensors include the greatest possible accuracy and an unrivaled choice of interfaces.
Although contactless rotary encoders are based on a non-contacting measuring method, they are not the same thing as non-contacting or bearing-free sensors.
